Shannon and Belinda met at a high school athletics training session. They quickly became friends and then high school sweethearts. After nine years together, Shannon took Belinda to Palazzo Versace for a surprise weekend away and popped the question during pre-dinner drinks. He had alerted both their families, who quickly converged on the bar to celebrate the long-awaited and very happy event. With only eight months until the wedding, planning for the day began almost immediately.

The couple chose a theme that cleverly incorporated winter branches and Singapore orchids, a perfect match for the long savannah grasses and beautiful old trees at their golf course reception venue, which provided a gorgeous backdrop for stunning wedding photographs.

On the day, Belinda’s two bridesmaids slipped into their beautiful Leonard Derecourt gowns before helping a very serene bride to dress. Belinda’s gown, also by Leonard Derecourt, was absolutely perfect. Featuring exquisite lace, the bodice was fitted to the hips before cascading down into a froth of softly flowing fabric. A pretty fascinator, cathedral length veil and Alan Pinkus peep toe shoes completed her outfit.

Shannon and Belinda enjoyed perfect wedding weather with sparkling blue skies. White doves, an eagle called Soren, and fireworks featured during the day, which went without a hitch. Shannon and Belinda, both feeling calm and collected, enjoyed every minute of it.

Later, Shannon, Belinda and their 121 guests were thoroughly entertained at the reception by their MC, surf lifesaving legend Trevor Hendy.

A Reflection Of Us

Hollie and Jimmy met while working together in a cocktail bar. They became good friends but they both were seeing other people at the time.

When both their relationships ended at the same time, they began to spend more time together, and soon realised that their friendship was much more than they had thought.

Fast forward some years and they were camping with their son Felix on Fraser Island. One morning Jimmy prepared a beautiful picnic breakfast, and after enjoying their feast they watched their son playing in the sand. It was then that Jimmy presented Hollie with a dream ring and asked her to marry him.

The couple’s wedding was a reflection of the things they love and of their own unique style. Their wedding invitations featured their monogrammed initials, a theme that they carried through to other elements of their celebration.

On their wedding day, the couple’s guests gathered under a beautiful gum tree next to a dam on Hollie’s parents’ property. Jimmy walked to the tree with Felix, and Hollie followed with her parents.

The touching ceremony included a pebble toss – everyone made a wish for Hollie and Jimmy’s life together and then tossed their pebble into the dam, as if sending their good wishes out into the universe.

Following the ceremony, a delicious lunch was served on a long table by the creek. Beautiful words were spoken before young and old enjoyed soccer, bubbles, music, totem tennis and other fun and games. In the evening, a bonfire and camp oven dinner completed a truly idyllic day.

Hollie and Jimmy agree that their wedding was perfect – a celebration in their own true style.

Shayna and Elvis Sinosic were kind enough to invite me to stay with them at Boonooloo Beach House at Newell Beach, Port Douglas or “Paradise” as we called it which enabled me to get to know this butt kicking couple intimately. It also allowed me to capture every moment of the most memorable weekend of their lives. Despite the windy conditions the entire day ran smoothly which is not only a reflection of this laid back couple, but also testament to the brilliant planning skills of Dee and Kellie from Runaway with me. I had a ball with the photographer Shaun Guests, who was amazing to work with. The beautiful Celebrant Natasha conducted the ceremony to perfection with her heartfelt words for Shayna and Elvis. Evan and Claire met by chance four years ago over drinks at a worksocial. They hit it off straight away, and as their relationshipblossomed they put their old lives on hold and stepped out into theworld together as they travelled to the UK and Europe. Eventually, when it was time to return to Australia, theydecided to visit the spectacular Greek island of Santorini along theway. A picture postcard location, and as it turned out, the perfectplace for a proposal.

The couple chose the first weekend of spring for their bigday. An elegant handmade headpiece complemented Claire’s gorgeous gown,an exclusive Elizabeth De Varga creation featuring pearl and damaskdetailing. Tulips, the couple’s theme flowers, looked stunning in Claire’s bouquet and her bridesmaids’ posies.

Evan and Claire were honoured to be married by Bishop Ray Benjamin in the charming chapel at Macarthur Park Gardens. Their ceremony was made extra special by the fact that theBishop had also married Claire’s parents and, decades previously,Claire’s grandparents. A Scottish piper played the classic Highland Cathedral as he led the chapel’s newest married couple back down the aisle.

Following a memorable ceremony, three classic white Jaguarswhisked the couple and their bridal party away to a vineyard reception. The reception room was lit entirely by tea lights, creating aromantic, intimate atmosphere, and guests were presented withpersonalised bottles of Pinot Gris and small silver heart shaped tinsfilled with chocolates. The couple agree that they couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
